Company Info

True-Motion sportswear was founded by a group of four passionate triathletes whose vision was to create casual sportswear that people feel good about wearing. We offer cool styles and comfortable fabrics to embrace the active lifestyle. There are numerous offerings of technical apparel available to today’s athlete, but what do you wear when you are done training and racing? That is how True-Motion was born. We want to be the after race, after training, or just hanging out on a Saturday afternoon brand of choice. So whether you are a fierce competitor, a promising novice, or simply a passionate spectator, off the field/court/roads you’ll look like all three. Be True.

Please, allow us to introduce ourselves…

Paul Bashforth
Founding Partner, True-Motion Visionary

Nickname: T2K (See Q&A’s for translation...coming soon)
Paul is the guy behind the guy behind the guy. Translation…he was the founding father of True-Motion Sports. If you ask him he’d say “I had a dream”. And you know what, it’s true. He has been an adventure sports junkie since his youth (which took place in England by the way). Paul has heard the words “You Are An Ironman” a few times, and he’s not retired yet. (Don’t tell the wife!) Father to a beautiful baby girl, Lucy, Paul and his wife Charlotte reside in South Beach, Miami. He says it’s for Charlotte’s career, we say it’s to ensure perfect weather for year-round riding. Either way, he envisioned an apparel company for everyday sportswear, and we’re glad he did!

What you don’t know about T2K:
He can eat 4-Double Double In&Out Animal-Style Cheeseburgers in 15 minutes. If you need to see it to believe it, we’ve got pictures.

Greg Stewart
Chief Creative Officer, Master of Design
Nickname:
Spartacus
Greg is the guy we go to and say “I saw something yesterday, it looked cool, can you do something like that for this shirt?” And Voila! It appears. A talented graphic designer with a keen eye for “cool” stuff, Greg is the creative director for all True-Motion apparel. And then there’s his uber-fast triathlete side. Let’s see, what do you call someone who consistently finishes ironman triathlons in under 10 hours? We sat on that for a while, and then it struck us…Spartacus…master of superhuman strength and power! Residing in Norwalk, CT with wife Meghan and daughter Cameron, Greg is a true lady’s man these days, and he wouldn’t have it any other way!

What you don’t know about Spartacus:
Greg was given All American honors for playing goalie for the University of Arizona's Club Water Polo. After playing water polo in high school in San Diego, Greg joined the U of A team late in his freshman year at the same time he started getting triathlons.

Greg was only four and half years old when his parents officially discovered he was color blind. Although only red-green deficient, Greg relies upon the CMYK breakdowns and PMS colors for color accuracy.

Mike Dolan
Chief Financial Officer, The Practical Guy
Nickname:
TB (Tall Boy, Stands 6’4”)
To know him is to love him…and we all do! He is our number-cruncher, our practical ying, and pragmatic yang. He knows how to get things done because he’s had a wealth of experience both professionally and athletically in the wide world of sports. A stud high school and college basketball player (DUH, he is TB afteral), he spent many years in the direct mail industry. He’s been a die-hard cyclist for 20 years, and recently, got hooked on triathlons (poor guy…we told him to stay away!) He completed his first ironaman in 2006. He currently lives in Hamilton, New Jersey with his lovely wife Susan, and their three kids Colleen, Matthew and Emily, and Louie, the yellow lab, whom we understand wears the pants in the house!

What you don’t know about TB:
He grew up on the Jersey Shore and every year on Memorial Day weekend he visits his favorite boardwalk food establishment, Jenks in Pt. Pleasant. Pizza, beer, the ocean breeze at Jenks…that’s livin’.

Mimi Boyle
Director of Marketing & Communications, Token Female Partner
Nickname:
LLB (lightning Legs Boyle)
If anyone is responsible for bringing sexy back to casual sportswear, it will be Mimi (oops, LLB), or at the very least, that’s what she’s been told by her superiors at True-Motion. She’s responsible for bringing the line to life to the True-Motion consumer. Her experience ranges from advertising, to brand development and innovation, and packaging design, all on the account management side. She can visualize, write, and hopefully sell an apparel line. A competitive athlete with her roots in soccer, these days she’s more likely to be found in a running race or triathlon, and most notably, is a two-time finisher of the Hawaii Ironman. She lives in Ridgefield, CT.

What you don’t know about LLB:
She has a cat that she named Alias because that was her favorite TV show at the time. When the show ended, she thought about changing her name to “24”, but reconsidered. Alias (the kitty) was not available for comment.
